BUTUAN CITY – Government officials in the Caraga region have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the objective of helping one another in addressing the issues and concerns of human rights issues. The signing of the MOU was spearheaded by the officers and members of the Community-Based Dialogue Core Group (CBDCG) at the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Caraga Regional Office, along with top military and police commanders in Northeastern Mindanao or Caraga region. The officers and members of the CBDCG in Caraga region include the Army’s 401st Infantry (Unity) Brigade and Army’s 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade, Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), NEDA; Carrascal, Cantilan, Madrid, Carmen, Lanuza Baywatch Association Inc., People Power Volunteers for Reform (PPVR), and CHR Caraga Region 13). The goal of the CBDCG in signing of the MOU was mainly to contribute to the improvement of the human rights situation in the Philippines.
