THE Philippines Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said job vacancies for Israel are open even to non-Hebrew speakers.
In a statement, POEA clarified that being able to speak Hebrew is not part of the requirements under its government-to-government deployment arrangement with Israel.
The accord, signed in December 2018, allows POEA to send Filipino caregivers and hotel workers to Israel.
“The minimum requirement is that hotel workers and caregivers must be able to communicate in English,” POEA said.
It warned interested applicants against language training centers claiming they are POEA partners.
Language training centers, which make such claims, may be reported to the POEA Illegal Recruitment Branch at 722-11-92 or at the POEA hotline numbers 722-11-44 and 722-11-55.
“The POEA does not accredit, enter into partnership, nor is in any way connected with language training centers,” POEA said.
“A training center has no license to recruit Filipino workers and its acts of advertising overseas job vacancies and promising employment to enrollees are considered illegal recruitment,” it added.
